All-Star Tournament Coming Up
Albany Little League will be sending 2-3 baseball teams and 2 softball teams to the Little League All-Star tournament, with first round play beginning in the Salem area. Practices begin the week of June 15, and games are expected to start the first week in July.

Baseball
11-12 year-olds - Tryouts June 16 and 17, 5:30 pm, at Timber Linn Park. (you only need to attend one of these) Registration is required again.
9-10 year-olds* - Appointed by managers
(*-including 11 year-olds at the 3A level)

There may also be a 10-11 year-old team if we have enough players. 11 year-olds playing at the 3A level would only be eligible for this team, along with other 10 and 11 year-olds.

Softball
11-12 year-olds - Tryouts on June 18, 5:30 pm, at Fairmount School. Registration is required again.
9-10 year-olds* - Appointed by managers
(*-including 11 year-olds at the 3A level)

All-Star Notes
At tryouts, check-in will start at 5:30 pm and tryouts will begin promptly at 6:00 pm. Little League International requires all players who wish to play in All-Stars to have participated in 60% of the regular season scheduled games with a minimum of 12 games scheduled and played. All players are required to submit a copy of their birth certificate and 3 proofs of residence. The All-Stars manager is required to keep a copy of the birth certificate and proofs of residence as proof of eligibility during the entire tournament, as required by Little League International. If possible, please copy the three different proofs of residence on the back of the copied birth certificate and bring both to All-Star tryouts for the 11-12 team. 9-10 and 10-11 teams will coordinate with the All-Star manager to submit a copy of the birth certificate and proof of residence.

The Albany Riptide majors softball team poses here after its first place finish at a District 7 tournament on April 25-26. The other majors team from Albany, the Force, finished third. At another tournament in May, the Force came in second and the Riptide were third. The Riptide have gone 21-4 this year.

Fall Ball
Albany Little League will be participating in Fall Ball, with games in September and October 2009. Sign-ups will be June 16 & 17 at Timber Linn Park at the same time as Majors baseball All-Star tryouts. A registration form for Fall Ball is at the bottom of this page.
